Making a Comeback!

So I've been struggling with my life for several weeks now. I was always good at giving people advice to be strong, to stand up for what they believe in, to move on, but when it comes to myself, I just couldn't talk myself into doing it. It was like something one of my best friend use to say ''រឿងគេអោយយោបល់ឥតរអែង ដល់រឿងខ្លួនឯងស្ញេញ'' and that can never be truer. Just like doctors; they can save lives, they operate on people but they can't operate on themselves. People need help somehow, in anyway, anytime. Well, it hasn't been easy for me at beginning either, not that it's good now, but what's the point? Being sad, depressed is just a waste of time, not to mention it would effect on your health, both physically and mentally. I've been wasting too much time than I've ever thought I would have wasted them ever in my life. I shouldn't have been like that. Maybe I just need to talk to somebody, and yeah, I've talked to a few people who's been very helpful. It has made me feel a whole lot better. All I'm saying is, damn it, I'm moving on! I'm never gonna look back again! There's a bright fun colorful life is waiting for me out there, and I'm gonna get it and make the best of it. After all that I've been through, I at least deserve that.

So, I've just created A NEW BLOG yesterday. Yeah, some would probably say I couldn't even manage time to write something new on this blog, what the hell to create a new one? Well, because I want to. And, the new blog has a very different concept from this one. It was created with the purpose of sharing a part of my life to the outside world. Just like the title, there's going to be 1Photo uploaded every single day, and each contains a memory. Since there's only 1 picture to post, and not many story to tell, for less than 10 minutes a day, I can post something new everyday. Don't forget to go say hi if you have time. It will be very appreciated :)

Apple Carrot Juice

So I bought this mixer way back a few months ago but never had the chance to use it until today. I'd always thought about making an easy one, which is Apple Carrot Juice. I'd never heard about the exact same thing cos whenever I drank one, it's gotta be either mixed fruit juice, or a single-kind-of-fruit juice.
About the Apple Carrot Juice, I've never thought about the other ingredients other than, well, Apple & Carrot. However, when I cracked open the box of the mixer I bought, there weren't only instructions & cautions, there was also a mini recipe book. Nice! And guess what, the Apple Carrot Juice was listed in it. Ha ha... ain't that cool?

So it was good to learn about its recipe. The ingredients in the recipe (for 1 person) are as listed below:
1. Carrot (25g)
2. Apple (50g)
3. Lemon Juice (a little)
4. Water (100ml)
5. Ice cube (about 2cm cube) 2 pieces
6. Honey (reasonable amount)

And yeah, it's not just plain carrot and apple :P
Since I had everything in my fridge, I'd immediately made one. It somehow doesn't taste quite delicious. Of course it was not bad, but there was like something missing for me. Then, yeah, it came to my head, "Sweet Condensed MIlk", cos it's kind of our custom in Cambodia to put it in mixed juice. So I added it and it tasted just good.

From now on, I'm gonna try out new recipe and if you happen to know some good ones, please tell me :)

Post-Earthquake's Post

I'm officially back from Cambodia!!! In case you don't know, I returned to my homeland to Cambodia for a visit since March 2nd, which means, I wasn't in Japan when the biggest earthquake hit Japan on March 11th. I guess I was quite lucky to have come home this year since I didn't plan to come at all so that I would have time traveling around Japan or something like that. Despite being lucky, a small part of me was like, Gosh, I could have experienced this. Well, I mean a 6.0 magnitude one that hit Sagamihara City which is where I live. I might sound crazy to want to experience this but, I think coming abroad, you're not only supposed to experience good things (even though you obviously can't), you should also experience the hardship and bad things too. I mean if it has to be you, whether earthquake or not, it's your turn. I'm just saying.

Anyway, yesterday. The plane I took was quiet, more than half of the seats were empty and I was told I could go to sit anywhere I wanted (except for the BUSINESS and FIRST-CLASS area, I thought to myself, lol). After the flight took off and got steady up above the sky, I left my own seat which I sat with my senior and junior student to the empty 3 seats on the opposite side, and not quite late after that, there I lied on those seats and slept. Suddenly, the uncomfortable flight I thought it was had become a comfortable one, haha.

The plane had landed at about 10:30pm and It took us almost an hour to get out from the airport. I haven't really noticed anything over the electricity saving plans until I took the train and changed a few lines when I needed to run fast, climb up & down, with my big luggage, another small one, and a backpack, and there were NO ESCALATORS worked. However, with a little bit of luck, some of the ELEVATORS were working, but still, mostly I was carrying those bags and dragged them from floor to floor, train to train, and fast cos the trains we were catching were the last of the night, or we could have slept along the way in the cold night. So, that was one energy saving plan the city's using to help save energy due to shortage of energy elsewhere. I got home at 2am this morning, and I noticed that my room was ok since there were nothing falling down or any crack at all until I went to the bathroom when I saw my eye cleaning water bottle had fallen down to the lavatory. And yeah, that's the only damage I've seen through my bare eyes so far :P I brushed my teeth, hit the shower, and went straight to bed with the alarm set at 10am.

So I woke up, not at Ten, but Two in the afternoon, but still I was tired and didn't want to get up, yet. I started unpacking until about 6:30pm and I went shopping. Surprised as I should be, the supermarket was more than half less illuminated than before. And that's another saving energy plan.

While in Cambodia, I asked one of my senpai who had been at Japan during the earthquake until March 24th about the situation and condition at our city. I was told that water wasn't really hard to purchase but cup-ramen was out of stock everywhere. So, of course, I brought them from home, yeah, lots of 'em. However, at the supermarket mentioned above, I can still see those cup-ramen, just not as many as before, like 1 third or something. But not only that, most of the goods: water, juice, vegetable, weren't seen sold as much as before the quake. Well, everything is getting better day by day, hour by hour, I guess. And I'm hoping for Japan to return to normal as soon as possible. I'm still praying for you!

Coffee

I haven't been such a big fan of coffee, not that I don't like it much, it's just that whenever I hear the term ''Addiction'', there's like a kind of power pulling me back from it. However, I still drink it occasionally as I usually pick random drinks anytime I want one, and the ''coffee'' I'm talking about is not black coffee, or hot coffee, I meant ''Cafe au Lait''.

I haven't had many chances to drink it much while in Cambodia, cause I thought I was young and that coffee is for grown ups, especially we have to go to market for ''កាហ្វេទឹកដោះគោទឹកកក'' which is pretty tiring. But when I turned 18, an adult, I still do not tend to go for it much either, yet I seldom drink it. Coming to Japan, there's tons of Cafe au Lait in paper boxes everywhere and are easy to find. Yet, I still drink it occasionally.

As we know, many says that coffee contains caffeine that temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness, while some of the people I know said there's no effect on them at all. Actually, I haven't really noticed about it too cause I just drink it when I want to, not for any other purposes.

As a university student, staying late is inevitable. So the lack of sleeping becomes a problem which mainly causes sleepiness during classes especially in the morning. I've tried lots of method to prevent that from happening but none of them seems very helpful. So few days ago I thought ''Why don't give coffee a try? It's not that bad, right?'', and I began to drink it yesterday, in the morning. As expected, I could stay alert in the morning for two days now. It worked!!! Maybe that means I'm gonna need it every morning from now on? But 2 days doesn't count, I think. So I'm waiting to see the result for at least another week. If it really works, it's gonna be for good! :)

Helium Hearts

Of course, that's the balloon with heart shape... haha...
But actually, here and now, I'm talking about the title of the song by Jason Reeves which is exactly called ''Helium Hearts''. I came across this song several minutes ago on youtube and didn't really love it for the first time, but I so love its video. It made me smile since the beginning till the end. I then watch it again and again and finally came to love that song now! It's so pure, honest, and beautiful!
As I've tried not to post songs anymore on the blog, I came to prefer adding them on the gadgets, I couldn't resist not to post this one! So I broke my own rule once, and there may be twice, thrice... who knows? LOL...

Jogging

Yeah, I jogged. Funny enough to say it, but I did. I've always wanted to do this thing since a long time ago, not that I've never done it before, it's just that I want it to be part of my life, my habit. I've been jogging a few times (so embarrassed to say) last year's summer and quit. But don't blame 100% on my laziness cos the school's timetable is also responsible for that... LOL...

It's been more than a year to start it again; I haven't done it this summer since I was very busy with internship and stuff. So the reason for me to jog this time is that, we're having another physical exercise exams, again, which requires us to run 12 minutes non-stop, and about 10 others stuff to do and the hardest part was that 12 minutes running. So I, and my friends, needed a lot of practice on it. The exam's gonna be next week and I'm hoping I had practiced enough. I jogged at the garden near our school this Friday with a record of 12minutes 40seconds in 1 round. Wasn't that bad, but the pace is pretty slow. With further practice, I'm hoping I would do better.

After the exam, I think I will still want to go jogging and make it as my habit. But FYI, I would just do it at 5pm on Wed, Thu, and Fri, hopefully. Looking forward to see some changes! :)

A Big Regret & A Little Bit of Relief

Semester 1 of my sophomore year has just ended exactly 1 week before semester 2 started which was last week's Friday. So as the semester 1 ended, we were able to find out the result since last week. However, I've just gone to see mine minutes ago. I knew I hadn't worked hard enough during the semester and I was sure that the result was gonna disappoint me. I got to the library, wrote an application for computer usage, and once I got to the PC, I went to the school's site and looked for my result.........................
As expected, it was bad, pretty bad. But in the mean time, I was relieved and maybe a little bit happy about some other results which I didn't think I could do it that well. But overall, semester 1 was a disappointment. I couldn't remember how many times I told myself to change, to work hard, but it DIDN'T work. But this time, I'm gonna make it work! Cheer me up! :P

2 YEARS

The countdown is over. The countdown you've seen in my facebook status and on this blog's gadget are now removed. Some friends made guesses over what the countdown is about but no one got it right... haha... Actually, I was counting down for today, September 30th, which is the 2 year anniversary for my newly experienced life in Japan. I know this sounds repeating but time is flying. It's been two years already, and that means I've come almost halfway to graduation, yet still another 2 years and a half to fight.

And also, today is the day that new students who got the same scholarship came. Congrats to all of them, and good luck on their new lives.

Study

Today, I had an ordinary lunch at the school canteen sitting next to a senior student, a research student. I've seen him around since I came, but never really had a chance to have a conversation with him until today. We asked about this and that and stuff until our study plans. He asked me what my plan was after graduation. I simply said like what I used to response to other people who asked me the same question that I would like to have at least a master even though I (may) have a contract with the Ministry of Labor in Cambodia that I would have to work for them for at least 2 years after graduation. But actually, the contract isn't quite serious, maybe we can bail on them by continuing our study or work in Japan cos they don't really care about it too as it's also hard for them to find jobs for us. However, the Japan side is becoming strict about that. Anyway, he asked me around about the research thing, and then finally asked ''You really like studying, huh?''. Wow, it was like the water splash into my face and woke me up; the question is never been asked before. I got myself thinking, ''Do I like studying?''. Hell No. I hate studying. Not just now, even when I was younger, I may seem to be hardworking, but I was totally not. I felt like going to school, studying is just a way of passing time. I had nothing to do beside it. It was like an obligation. Man, this really wakes me up. I really need to make a decision whether to go further or not. Thank you senior.

Wallpaper

I remember when I first had my first personal computer, which was about 6 years ago, I liked to change the wallpaper of the screen every once at a time. There was the time when I changed it 3 times a day... it just happened. Back then, I'm pretty sure I changed those according to my feeling. I also once set the auto update wallpaper to everyday. I was still doing that even after high school and 2 years at ITC. I used to like to go to internet shop not just to check mail or surf, but search for wallpapers and downloaded tons of them home. There were not only landscape, cute animal, but also photos of my favorite singers & movie stars. I know that's kinda lame... LOL
This thing has kept going on even after I came to Japan until like last year when I got stuck with one single wallpaper. Yeah, only one single wallpaper has been hanging on my PC's wall for more than a year now. So, I think it's time I show it to you all now. I'm still loving it, a lot!!!

Turning 22

It was my birthday 4days ago, and I just turned 22. Quite an adult now!!! Isn't childhood too short or something? Talking about it, it's like when we were young we wanna become an adult, and after becoming an adult, we started looking back to the past and missed those days. I'm feeling all of it right now. But there's millions of memories and lesson learned during those past 22 years and I should be proud of what I am and this far I've come. :)

Anyway, my birthday this year is quite a good day! I've been given a party by other Khmer students here, 9 people in total, including my senior's friend from other university. Well, the party was quite predictable (cos it goes on in the same pattern on each person's birthday... LOL), we had dinner together on the 5th continuing until midnight when I noticed few people disappeared from the room, then came back with the birthday cake for me. Even knowing in before hand, it's still quite exciting to have people around caring for me, and make the birthday party for me. A bunch of thanks to all of them, Bang Piseth, Lakhena, Seng, Bora, Kim Hun, Makara, Chamrong & Kakvey. I really had a good time.

Inspiration

So, it has come back to me, hopefully. That's right, the motivation to write more posts, it has just come back to me, hoping it's gonna stay like this forever. There were something inspiring yesterday that moved me, again. Not that someone advised me, nor I've read an inspiring blog, nor I came across something similar to my experiences, but my own blog, the previous posts.

Last night, I felt like wanting to know what I had written over the past that made it averagely 10 posts per month, which I couldn't manage to do now, so I went back reading those posts one by one backward. Not being boastful, but I like what I wrote in the past a lot. There were so much memories in there, which some I couldn't even remember. Back then, most of my friends were also active bloggers, so they often left comments on each post, and we talked, we argued, we discussed, we sought helps, we said funny things about each others.... God, there were tons of good memories in there. Reading those posts and comments made me smile/laugh alone for several times yesterday. And these things inspired me who & how I used to be, and I really really wanna be like before. So once again, I'm gonna try my best to write posts like in the past with random things I wanna talk or even complain. Keep on tracking with me, OK?!!!

Anyway, I'm planning to write at least 1 post a week, could be 2 or 3, who knows if I feel like to! Also, as you may notice the gadget on the right of the body of the blog, over there I'll post new song each week naming them ''Artist of The Week''. The song could be in any languages :P and below that, there'll be a video from Youtuber each week too. It may be a sketch, songs' parody or something, I don't know.

Glee

What is Glee?
-Glee is musical comedy television series airing on Fox in the US. It focuses on a high school show choir (a modern glee club) called "New Directions", at the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.

So?
-Yeah, I like musical comedy and Glee has been my most favorite show ever. I like it even more than American Idol. I've watched it since the beginning and it's been really really fun to watch. The whole thing, everything is great. It's funny, there's a lot of music (basically covers for now) and the casts are very very good.

And?
-Season 1 was finished since June 2010, and now lots and lots of people, including me, are impatiently waiting of the upcoming Season 2, which will be premiered this September 21st. It's gonna be awesome. According to the news, there'll be a lot of new casts, guest stars, such as Britney Spears and Charice Pempengco.

So don't forget to check it out! I really can't wait! :)

August Post

Ok, so I haven't written any posts more often lately as commitment... sigh
Actually, I don't really have anything to say right now too, haha. The purpose of writing this post is just to have a post for August, don't want it to be 0 like in June. It was bad, and I feel really bad when I haven't written as many posts as I would like to. Well, the thing is that recently I mostly just update on facebook cos it's quick and doesn't need to write a lot which does not take much time. But I still love posting here. Expressing through photos isn't enough. Sometimes, we need to speak up, to complain, and blogging is just best for it. :)
So that's it for now, I'm totally busy these days since after vacation. Few more reports to go and a big presentation this Wednesday which I'm not sure I can even finish it on time :(( After next week, their would be some spare time (I think) as it's gonna be a week for supplementary lecture. But it is most likely holidays :P then after that, there will be 2 weeks of semester 1 exams, finally. Gotta keep on going no matter what.

Internship

While most people are enjoying their wonderful summer vacation, I am having an internship. Well, it turned out that from this year on, internship in 2nd year(which I am now in) is going to be a requirement to graduate at my school. And, it has started today, for me. What am I going to do during the intership? I mean, what can I do with just little experience of mine of 2 years at school to do something in a place where people do REAL things.

It wasn't that bad, somehow. I was sent to an Architecture Design Office along with one of classmates (usually, each student is going to different places, but as I'm a foreign student, the teacher assigns another Japanese to come along in case I would need any helps, esp the translation, haha). The Office is called the ''Yellow Submarine United Design Office'', located in Tokyo, Nakano, which takes me about half an hour from home.
Speaking of home, I am now moving into my Host Family's house for this 2 weeks period of internship because their house is near the train station. I actually prefer staying out of home (acturally dorm :P) once in a while because I can fresh up my mind by seeing new things and meeting different people everyday, not just sitting in the 10 square meters room looking into the PC screen almost 24/7, that's just too much.

By the way, the internship started this morning, and I pratically moved in here (my host family's house) since yesterday. I may not have mentioned before, but my host mother is a really good cook, I enjoy every meal she cooks :).
Anyway, before today, I once went to greet people at the Office with my teacher who introduced us to them, and them to us. On that they, we were told to come to the office today (July 20th) at 10am as they'll explain details about what they gonna make us do over there. At first, I thought, 10am? or maybe it's just the first day.
Well, as I said before, we're having little knowledge over the thing, we obviously couldn't help much on what they're doing, so the work for us was ''Making Building Models''. Not bad, right? We used to build models too for our assignments at school, at least once a semester, but the thing is we usually make it in big scale 1/50 or 1/30, but this time it's 1/100, it's very small and as it is going to be an actual building, detail plans and everything were drawn, and the dimension is small, so it was pretty hard.
Usually, they're having lunch break from 1 to 2pm and working till about 6:30pm. I also learnt to know that 10am is the time they start work everyday, and it's a common things for Tokyo employee.

It was a great day, though. Making building model is fun but I hope I'm not doing it these whole 2 weeks cos I'm gonna hate it. Speaking about life as worker, I began to know some of it now. Sitting in the office the whole day with 1 hour lunch break, that's kinda boring cos if we are students, we have many different subjects catch up everyday, not doing the same thing everyday as working. However, the worst part of it is commuting to work. It takes alot of time and money and energy. The most tiring time for me today was it. Just go and come back took me 3 hours and $15... sigh...

Well, tomorrow I'm planning to have dinner and go for a walk around Nakano. Can't wait to see what's going on. :)

It's the 9th season of American Idol this year, and last night after Casey James was voted off, we'll be having Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox as the finalists who will be competing next week to be crowned the 2010 American Idol. Personally, I'm so glad that both of them are in the final this season cos I just like them so so much that I predicted that both of them could be in the final in which they are now.

Lee has a really good voice and he's rock singer which is very cool.

Crystal also has a great voice and she always knows what she's doing.

I've been a fan of them since Live Show started. There're just GOOD! I'd love to hear them both on the radio. But on Idol stage, I tend to go for Lee to win. I think his music is more current than what Crystal does. Well, we'll just have to wait and see next week!

Should I Continue It?

It was 2 years ago, when I started writing blog, the one and only "this blog". I had a lot of fun writing it, and I enjoy every minute of it. Although mine is not quite popular, I've never been disappointed by that because I'm sure there'll be somebody out there reading it. Lately, I haven't written my blog ALMOST AT ALL. Is there something wrong? Where are all my motivations gone?

Well, however, there were a few things that make me hesitate whether or not I should keep writing this blog. I was considering writing a whole new blog. But why? I don't hate this one!
The fact is that, few my posts were receiving irrelevant comments or advertisement so that I decided to moderate the comment on the posts which are written over a week. It's sad to do that though. But I've made up my mind, and I'll still be writing posts, and of course on this blog. I'll keep doing it because there're so many memory with it.

Ok, that's it for now. Just letting you know that ''my blog is not dead'', once more! :P

It's Time To FEEL GOOD Again!

On January 12th, 2010, the premiere of American Idol Season 9 will be aired on FOX. Though I don't have access to the channel, I have my ways to get to watch it... Lolzzz... Just as last year. I'm really excited about it, much more excited than the X Factor.

Ooh, there's only one more to go... YEAHHHHHHH!
Of course, I'm talking about the exams in semester 2. I had just finished one (English) this morning. It must be very easy if I were Japanese, but the problem for me was the instructions in Japanese language :P. Tomorrow will be the last day of school of year one. Yay! and would be the last exam of the year. However, there will still be 2 other exams week in January if the teacher hadn't managed to make during class period.
In less than 31 hours, I'll be free... at least for 2 weeks... Lolzzz... will enjoy my winter vacation! Really wanna go to skiing & skateboarding. Will I be able to do it? Wish me luck!

Joseph McElderry won the title of the 6th season of the UK singing competition ''X Factor'' last week on Sunday, December 13th.
He sang ''Dance With My Father'' during the audition and I like him since then. The judges said he's got the voice, the attitude, the whole package. He passed the audition, the bootcamp stage, and was selected as one the 12 final contestants to perform on live stage. He appeared stronger and better week after week and was never been in the bottom 2 as well as receiving bad comments. He won the title of the X Factor on Sunday night beating Runner-Up Olly Murs, and 3rd place last stand girl, Stacey Solomon. His winning single ''The Climb'' was released that night at 00:00 as digital download.

Then there will be winter vacation for 2 weeks after that before supplementary lectures and exams week in January. 30 Hours A Day?

Have you ever for even once wish you had more times in a day? Is 24 hours a day enough for your routine? What if one day is longer than what it's supposed to be, like 30 hours a day, will you be happy about it?
Most people tends to feel that time goes by faster and faster as we age, including me. I remember when I was in secondary school, comparing to when I was in primary school, I kinda felt like time is speeding up a little bit. In high school, yeah, it's picking up more speed; 3 year in secondary school was like just 1 year. Entering university (2 years in ITC), was just like 2 months to me! Was time flying? Or does it really change its speed day by day? Really, I mean, I've been in Japan 1 year now but I still feel like I'm still new here, I've just been here lately, but God, it's been 1 year! What have I done thought out the whole time? I'm sick thinking about it! Don't even think about the whole year passing by fast, one day to another now is just like lunchbreak! Hmmm...

So here are my questions to you:
1. Do you feel like time flying?
2. Why time is fast for some and slow for others?
3. Do you wish you had more times into days? Why?

I just had this crazy idea lately, and I'm working on a presentation due tomorrow!
Wish I had more time now... :P

Is My Blog ...... DEAD???

I started writing posts on this blog more than 1 and a half year now, and the blogging was going well, with the average of 10 posts per months... :P
However, lately there was only 1 post this October leaving some questions to some friends of mine of where have I been, or what have happened. Have I lost interest in writing it? Or because of losing of commitment? No, no... the answer to the question is because of the lack of TIME! I was getting busier and busier since semester 2 which started this Oct and I haven't even made calls to my family nor friends, even e-mail or instant messages on YMG leaving them anger over me (somehow, not all of them because they understand) :( Of course, it's not that I don't have time at all, but there are lesser and I'm more tired after school and I prefer relaxing. However, I'm hoping to stay in touch with all of them & us!
Anyway, just wanna let you guys know that my blog is not DEAD, yet. And hoping that my friends' blog which is dying come to life together again! I'll try to make this blog coming to life again! Wish me luck! See you in the next post...

It's TYPHOON!

Yesterday, we were informed that typhoon is coming to Tokyo and can possibly coming to our area, since it's not very far from there. If it comes, all classes will be canceled... and that's why I was looking forward to it... Just kidding!
This morning I was woken up at 7am, which is considered pretty early here, by the strong winds outside my window. ''Is it typhoon?'', I asked myself. I could tell it might not be cos it's not very damaging and the clouds weren't black and there's also sunlight. So that means I still have class today... too bad. Continuing my sleeping, I woke up again a little late, do my things, get dressed to class. Wow, there were branches & tree leaves everywhere on the ground. I walked to my class, and it was canceled... yay! But at the information board, it didn't say ''No class due to Typhoon'' or sth, it's just the teacher's problem. Could it be typhoon at his house? I hope not!

I'm still wondering whether typhoon is coming here or not. The wind's still strong... Maybe we just get some effects from it... Maybe it's on its way here... I don't know... wait and see!

With the speed of light, time flies! I don't wanna believe I've been in Japan 1 year now. This is crazy!!! I usually feel like I'm always new here, but sadly not anymore; I'm 1 year old now to the land.

This morning there were new foreign students coming here, just as me, including 2 Khmer students. So far we have 8 students here with only 1 girl, and now the 2 new students are also boys. So she's still the one!!! I remember the day I came, there was little rain all the way from the airport to school, and so is this year. I miss old days now!

Anyway, Happy 1 year anniversary of my living in Japan & congratulations to new students! Cheers!

Pchum Ben this year took place in September 18th. However, in Japan, it was celebrated in the 22nd because on that day people were in their holiday. My senpai and I had no idea there were Pchum Ben celebrating in Japan until few days before the date when one my senpai met a Khmer uncle who told us about that. The festival were celebrated in Yamato where said to be like ''Asian Town'' where Khmer people may crash their heads together while walking... Lolzzz... So maybe I was wrong to believe that most Khmer people live in my town, but it's still in the Prefecture I'm living in.
Anyway, it took us about 35 minutes by train to get there. The town looks simple and neat, no sky scrappers... just like a small town, and the festival was held in a building called ''大和市勤労福祉会館'' (Yamato Workers Welfare Hall). There weren't as many people as the Khmer New Year festival I've joined in Sagamihara City, but I'm just glad I've joined.

Last night, I watched a movie titled ''Win A Date With Tad Hamilton'' again. I remember I watched it few years ago on HBO (maybe in 2004 or 2005) and I had favorited it in my fave movies list! It's a romantic comedy film, which is my most favorite kind of movies, starred Kate Bosworth, Topher Grace, & Josh Duhamel as Tad Hamilton. Kate is one of my most favorite female actress. She's just so pretty & sweet... Gosh, I love her!!!

Anyway, watching it back again this time, I learned to know a soundtrack in the movies entitled ''Somebody'' sung by ''Bonnie McKee''. It's a nice song and suit the part in movies so much!

Pchum Ben in Japan???

It's been two weeks already when I've been trained some short courses, mainly related to computer, in class before semester 2. It was like 2 completely different weeks to me because the first week, the class was about Microsoft Office! Yeah, Word, Excel & Powerpoint, which are pretty boring, yet I've learned sth new. Not that bad! But it's likely to name as ''An Easy One''. And the following week, there were Vector Works & AutoCAD, which both are soft programs to draw plan. Gosh, they're all new to me and very complicated!!! There's many things in them driving me crazy such as the exact measurement while drawing... If I just make a small mistake, it can lead to the others, and it's pretty tiring! However, I've managed to complete the course, submitted the tasks, pretty well! Phew, what a relief!

I've been out this evening with some friends, let's call it a celebration though it's not really is, to have dinner at a place near the local bus stop behind the school. I've never there before. It's kinda family business in their own house, pretty small, but the food was nice with reasonable price. My dinner was a dinner-set with liver fried with onion grass. I can't believe I ate onion grass cos I hated them. But I just did, and I didn't die... Lolzzz...
After that, we went back to our dorm, continuing on our daily tiring stuff such as watching movies, or just sit and watch the computer screen... etc Sometimes I feel like wanting to get out this place, or go back home where there's family & plenty of friends...

I really miss Khmer Food now, and since it's almost Pchum Ben, it reminds me of ''Num Ansom'' so much. I haven't eaten it since last year because Pchum Ben was the day of my departure to Japan, and this year, still I'm here. Few hours ago, I received a message from one of my senpai telling that he's just got the news that there'll be the Pchum Ben festival celebrated in Yamamoto, somewhere nearby where said to be like ''Asian Town'' in Japan, on the 22nd. I'm really looking forward to it, I can't wait. There, I would meet some Khmer people, eat Khmer food, what a relaxing ambience!

Oh, yeah, the 22nd is still my holiday cos I got 9 days off, counting from tomorrow till Sunday. Class will be on Monday... Meeting new teachers, having some boring classes again...
Whoa, almost forgot! I got another assignment to go. It's about ''My Favorite Architect''. Not such enjoyable holidays anyway!

Food of Autumn...

I believe we all know that summer has just gone lately leaving us in the middle of the class studying instead of continuing to enjoy the time we wait for each year. Well, they say ''Nothing goes, nothing comes''. In summer, I've written two post about summer insect Cicada & summer fruit Peach, which one is what i hate the most and one is what i like the most.
So here it comes now, the Fall or Autumn, the season which is the start of cold weather, and also the killer of the Greenery. But it's just the way it is, right? There's no need to be headache with it.

Before yesterday, I went to eat at the canteen as usual. The lunch was grilled fish which I don't know the name but is told to be cheap now. However, it's not that the fish is in low quality or doesn't provide much nutrition. Later that evening, I found out that the fish's name is ''Sanma'' and is the fish of Autumn, that's why it's so cheap (I like it though :P). At the same time, I came to know ''Kabosu'' & ''Sudachi'' which are to me ''Lime''. However, after consulting Wikipedia, they're not really lime, they're just lime's siblings. Lolzzz... There's no translation of the fruit in English. Since, they're in the citrus family, they posseses just similar characteristic to lime, such as flavoring various dishes, and using in ice-cream & softdrink.
I'm not sure about the difference between Kabosu & Sudachi, but one thing I know is that Sudachi is smaller. :)

Summer Vacation? What A Waste...

It was like just last week when I finished all my semester 1 exams and had my summer vacation. But gosh, it's been almost 2 months and summer has gone! I remember I told myself before vacation that I was going to travel lots of place in Japan including many walks in the morning around the neighborhood. I even searched for some information about the places I'd like to go. I felt ashamed of myself now when I haven't done even half of what I planned to but spending those time sleeping, watching movies, playing games in my stressful messy room. I didn't even touch a book; don't even need to talk about doing my summer assignment. What's the use of that? I'm pretty much guilty now that it's been a waste the whole summer. And now here it comes again, it's semester 2 class (though I'm still in the training for another week, but the week after that will be). But thinking of have been to Korea made me feel a lot lot lot better! I promised myself not to make next year's vacation like this again! Wish me luck!

My Birthday Present!

It was 20 years 24 days I spent the whole time in my home country, Cambodia! Never been anywhere else until Japan. Back then, my dear friends (either Battambang, Phnom Penh, or at ITC and else) and I often offer each others birthday party every year. It was nice every single time we celebrate birthday as we also got the chance to gather and talk which I consider one of the best thing to strengthen our friendship. Last year, I got double birthday party, one from my long-term friends (mostly from BB) and other one from my family. It was so so wonderful for me. However, this year, as being in Japan... well, what can I say? Don't have much friends yet...

But you may know or not, I went on a trip to Korea with 2 other students here, Bora & Makara, from September 1st to the 5th by ourselves, but having one of my best friend, Rady, as our guide during the whole trip. It was such a wonderful trip except I was so so tired as we walked a lot back then. But hey, this is the trip, not relaxation! But everything paid off... I just can't wait to go there once again! And I may take this trip as ''the present'' for myself on my birthday this year! Happy Birthday to me!

8000 Fireworks...!

It was the second time I went to see the fireworks in Japan. Maybe you know, maybe you don't, summer is also the season of fireworks here. And I've just found out that people wear ''Yukata'' to see the fireworks, it's the custom here! Has ha... Maybe I'll manage to buy one next year since it's not as expensive nor complicated as Kimono. Lolzzz...
Anyway, this time, I went to a place called Suigotana (水郷田名) in Sagamihara City. It requires 2 train stations crossing and 60 minutes of walking to Sagami River where the Fireworks will be shot and that 60 minutes was very tiring... I thought I'd lost my legs...
However, this time it paid off cos I'd taken lots of pictures of fireworks which satisfied me so much. The first time I took pictures of firework, which was in Yokohama, was so bad, but this time my senpai lent me the camera stand, and that's why! Moreover, this time there were 8000 fireworks were shot which is 3000 more than the one in Yokohama.

It's kinda device which count views, not visitors, which of course means everytime the page load, it counts, no matter the visitor is the same person or not. I guess you know how it feels to be locked inside the room all day long since having nothing to do during this summer vacation. It's a bit stressful... so once again, I went out with my lovely Lexus (with 2 wheels :P) exploring the neighborhood. Well, I took the same road I took last time since it's a downhill road and I enjoy riding on it though I know I'm gonna be miserable riding up back. Well, that's just ME... Lolzzz

This gave me an idea of coming here to make a BBQ party with my senpai before the new semester begins. Heh heh...

Cicada セミ　រៃ

In the previous post, I wrote about a fruit called "Peach" which is a fruit of summer. So, now I think I will write about an animal of summer. It is called "Cicada" (pronounced /sɪˈkeɪdə/) in English or ''セミ'' (Semi) in Japanese and of course ''រៃ'' in Khmer.
Well, you know what? The biggest reason that drives me to write this post is that I AM TOTALLY FED UP WITH THIS INSECT. It's making noise every night and day almost 24/7 which is very annoying even though I close all doors and windows. Sigh... Not only at dorm or school, I can hear its sound everywhere I go even if there is just only ONE tree. When can I get rid of it? One more thing, I think that Cicada in Khmer makes better sound which is not this annoying!

According to Wikipedia, there are about 2,500 species of Cicada around the world.
However, this one is called ''Aburazemi'' (油蝉 could be translated as ''Oil Cicada'') found mostly/only in Kanagawa Prefecture where I live... :)

How to EAT peach?

Fruit is one of my favorite food of all time in the whole year. However, most kinds of fruit have its own season of growth, as well as be sold in the market. Of course, it is now summer, and like I've mentioned in earlier posts is that it's the season of Watermelon and Melon which are my most favorite fruit. Watermelon, we all know how to eat it cos it's too simple, right? Melon as well, is not difficult to deal with.

Well, recently, there was another kind of fruit coming out in the market during this mid-summer called ''peach''. Maybe I used to eat it, or you used to eat it too since we can also see it in some kinds of cake or dessert, but rarely I see it being sold fresh in Cambodia's market, or never! Here in Japan, there are full of it in almost every market. Curiosity has driven to buy it and try! At first, I didn't know about that fruit at all! How to eat it? Where should I begin? Which part are not suitable to eat? Then I make a research on the internet to get ideas how to eat this fruit! Ha ha... sounds a little weird, aren't I?

Ok, so this few steps on how to eat a peach for those who are interested in eating it!

Step 1

Look for peaches that have a nice blush to them and very little green. A good peach should have a little give to it when you squeeze it, but still should be plenty firm. Keep an eye out for sap oozing from the peach and avoid peaches with this problem.Also, be aware of any small holes. Holes are usually made by worms and birds looking for those worms.
Step 2

Start by washing them with cold water to remove pesticides and dirt.
Step 3

Next, cut them in half with a sharp knife and remove the pit, or stone, from the middle.
Step 4

If the skin bothers you, most peaches are easy enough to peel before eating. Though, you will be losing some of the nutrients from the peach by removing the skin.

Yesterday, I went to see the Firework show in Yokohama which was like an annual festival cos it happens every year and not just one day, in the different place, they shoot the firework at the different day!

Men, women, boys and girls wore Yukata (also called Summer Kimono) during the day. I'm not sure about the reason too. Maybe it's the custom to wear it to see fireworks?

Hundreds of people are sitting on the street waiting to see the fireworks. There were hundreds more behind my back and hundreds more at the different angles!

Should've Trusted The Weather Forecast!

Woke up at 1pm, took bath... finished my breakfunch at 2:30... was planning to start on a report which due this Monday. Well, since getting up late has made me feeling not well (most of the time but i keep doing it :P), and listening to loud music has almost made my head exploded. So, I decided to go out for some fresh air with my bicycle. The sky wasn't very cloudy but I thought it might be better to check the weather forecast, so I hit the page and it said that there would be weak rain from 12pm to 6pm, but it was sunny until 4pm. Well, I thought it was not quite reliable too since I've lost into that trap few times already :D heh heh... and I decided to go out, without bringing my umbrella.

The weather was great out there, the cold wind was blowing gently, and there's greenery along the way as well as in some region nearby where I went (could be considered as suburb) had really made me feel quite good. I took some small road, where I've never been before, seeing the vegetable orchard, flowers orchard, gardens,... was amazing! (at least to me) Without thinking further, I surf further and further enjoying the ride.

Well, who knows since when the clouds had been gathering up above me. Since I don't wanna get wet, I took a U-turn and just a minute after, tiny drops of rain began to fall from the sky. Minute by minute, it became heavier and heavier, and the result is ''I GOT ALMOST ALL WET''. This is the consequence of not trusting the Weather Forecast. (But it REALLY is not reliable sometimes :( )

It was the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century and is visible in many countries such as India, China, the Pacific Ocean, and also in the southeast part of Japan. It's been 46 years ago since the last time Japan had had that full solar eclipse on July 21st, 1963.
I was sad I couldn't see it cos the place to see the full eclipse is quite far from where I live. Anyway, enjoy the video attached below and BE PATIENT TO WATCH TILL THE END! It's amazing!

Harry Potter...

Never thought I'd be able to watch the full length movie of Harry Potter in a cinema before, but I just did it. Yeah!!! It's tonight, and my senpai & I've just came back from watching it, ''Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince'', which was premiere on Wednesday here in Japan. But since we were busy with class, we decided to go today. Well, I don't need to say much about it as we all knew it must be awesome. However, this episode is kinda different from the last 5 to me. Well, it came with a strange beginning, with the much funnier body, but a very sad ending! :( Oh, oh, I think I better let you know it by yourself!

But you know what? The final episode will be divided into 2 parts... sounds strange to me but it's said that the book of the final episode is a lot much thicker than the previous!

蒸し暑いなぁ！！！(It's so muggy!!!)

Here in Japan, ''夏'' (Natsu=Summer) has began since June 24th, which is exactly 3 days ago. However, the weather had become hotter almost a month already. The temperature peaked 32 degree C on the 24th which was pretty hot. Well, I've just got my air-con switched to ''cooler'' few weeks ago too... and has been using it almost everyday now. :D But you know what? We are now still in the rainy season ''梅雨'' (Tsuyu) which is not one of the big 4 seasons, but it occurs every years during June & July when there's big & long rain with also the possibility of Typhoon ''台風''. Moreover, the long term rain could last from 1~2 weeks, which I haven't experienced it yet!

夏のライフスタイル　(Summer's Lifestyle)
As temperature's getting hotter, people began to change there lifestyle such as the way of eating, house decorating, especially the way of dressing. Japanese people, especially young people started to wear thin & short clothes cos it's time to show off... Heh heh... actually, they can't stand with the weather!

This is ''浴衣'' (Yukata) which can also be called ''Summer Kimono''.
It's kind of clothes similar to kimono but made of thinner material and is used to wear during summer!

I bet you know this one very clear. But what I find a bit surprising is that students (even in universities) wear it to school everyday! Well, I think this is not bad!!! I'm considering wearing once soon too! :D cos the weather is hot nas....

Well, it's been 8 months since I've been here, and it's 8 months away to my first visit back to Cambodia. I can't wait to go. I miss my mum, sisters, my nephew so so much. Though we often talk on the phone, but I still feel like it's not enough! I also miss my relatives a lot. And last but not least my dear & dearest friends! Can't wait to see them all! How will I be patient waiting for other 8 months??? Help me make it faster......

It was last week when I received a package from my sister in Cambodia. Well, it was a funny story about how she delivered it to me here in Japan. Lately, I've asked mum & my sister to send me some food such as ''Bakyong'' cos I've ran out it, and I also needed ''Vitamin C'' pill cos I occasionally catch a cold or fever or flu that I often use it. That time, my other sister was at Sweden preparing for her graduation. So her husband went there to visit her there. And that's how the package sending progress started. Has ha.... My sister in Cambodia sent it through him to Sweden, then my sister in Sweden sent it to me here as it was free of charge sending from her school! And now I got it... :P

Here comes the medicine. I remember I asked for only Vitamin C, but those came with it. I haven't even used those I've brought when I came. And Vitamin C, my God, only 6 tablets???

Learning a language is hard and takes a lot of time even if I'm living in the country where the language is spoken. However, it has its own benefits. I can practice the conversation everyday, learn about spoken languages etc...
Lately, I've found out a name of another insect in Japanese from a friend. It was interesting, anyway! It's called Ladybird or Ladybugs in English. They are commonly bright red, orange, or yellow with black spots, just like what I've seen in Cambodia, in my parents' large garden on the top floor of our house :P. According to Wikipedia, there are 5000 species of this kind of insect worldwide. Its scientific name is ''Coccinellidae''.
Oh, and almost forgot the purpose of the post! Heh heh... It's ''天道虫'' (Tentoumushi) in Japanese!

Where Is ''Idol'' Coming From???

Have you ever wonder where the most popular singing competition, which is known as ''Idol'', come from? Is it from America? Since it's considered as the biggest, and most popular TV program one now. Well, the answer is ''No'', it's not coming from America. I found it out just about tonight after finishing 1/4 of my boring assignments the whole day, and was searching some musics to listen. By the way, the theme ''Idol'' was first created and shown in Britain known as ''Pop Idol'' in 2001. However, the show had skipped a year, for whatever reason I don't know, and came back as season 2 on 2003 and was disappeared since then. After the first season of Pop Idol in 2001, the ''Idol'' in other countries were being created, and was all 11 in total. Believe it or not, there were also the ''World Idol'' was created at that time where all the winner of each countries competed for the winner of the world. However, this ''World Idol'' didn't come up with further episodes as it faced many critics. Simon Cowell, the judge of ''Pop Idol'' as well as ''American Idol'', even claimed that he hated it, in that it made the winners from the ten other Idol competitions into losers.

Well, now let me introduce you to the very first season in history of this Pop Idol's Top 3 contestants. Actually, I've known them before from their songs at those time in 2002~2003 but I didn't know the story about them, and I love their songs so much until now. Alright let's begin with this photo:

A Walk In The Park

Last month, I took a walk in the nearest park from school known as ''Sagamihara North Park'' (相模原北公園). It was a nice day as I spent time breathing fresh air, looking into the green world, and enjoying the scent of various kinds of flowers. Felt so relaxing having nature around.

Just came across few of his songs yesterday, first with ''Breathing Your Love'' which he sang featuring Kat Deluna. It was a nice song but was released since last year. Then I came to know that he's the Runner-Up from the Swedish Idol of 2004 and had become one of Sweden's best selling singers with numerous chart topping songs and music albums. His song ''Runaway'' from his 4th album ''Flashback'' , released lately before his latest single ''What If'', is now one of my favorite song.

American Idol 2009 Crowned

Wow, it's been amazing watching the Grand Finale of the American Idol this year. It's great, wonderful, stunning, and many other things word can't describe.

Last week, we got Kris and Adam as Top 2 of the show, and Tuesday they'd performed for the last time on Idol stage in order to compete for the title of ''The New American Idol''. Each of them sang 3 songs: the first song is their own choice upon their own most favorite performances so far on the show, the 2nd one is the choice of AI creator Simon Fuller, and the last song, they perform the same song, the new one written by our own new judge Kara Dioguardi.

Round 1
Adam sang ''Mad World'' which is from his performance during Top 8.
Kris sang ''Ain't No Sunshine'' from his Top 9 performance, which is my most favorite performance of his during the show.
In addition, Simon implied that Round 1 goes to Kris.

Round 2
Adam sang ''A Change is Gonna Come'' and Kris sang ''What's Going On''.
However, this time, Simon said ''1 million percent, Adam wins this round''

Round 3
Both of them sang the same song ''No Boundaries'' which is co-written by Kara.
Though this time, Simon didn't say who won, but I think Adam did a pretty good job on that new song way much better than Kris did.

The Result
This year, the record has been broken again with the highest number of votes of almost 100 millions. However, this year, Ryan Seacrest didn't mention how many percentages each contestants got from the votes.
Well, honestly, I expected Adam to win the competition because I think he's got raw natural talent, he has originality and the capability to twist a song in to a new better version one of his. However, Kris also possesses those capability, I think, but the one thing which makes me like Adam more is that, HE CAN SING ANYTHING, no matter what kind of music it is.
And the result, lies below:

Hmmm, this year, what I'm expected wasn't coming true again because the winner of this year's American Idol is ''Kris Allen''. However, I'm not quite sad as last year cos Kris is also one of my most favorite contestant of the year too. Congratulation Kris!
After announcing the winner, Kris sang the winning song of the year ''No Boundaries'' and it'll be his 1st official single in the music industry. Can't wait to see more of him!

First Assignment

It's been more than a month I've started class over here. I've got so tons of homeworks, as well as assignments, especially the timetable is full almost everyday, and I'm totally busy these days, it could be boring to hear this over and over, isn't it? But I just wanna say it out or shout as loud as I can...
Well, back to the topic now, heh heh... I'm not saying this is the first assignment of the whole class, but of one specific subject "Basic Drawing", but we're not only learn to draw in this course, we also learn to make "Building Model". As the first assignment, that means it is the "Basic Lesson".

Since one object is all about the basic of building a model, it wouldn't show a specific form as a building, but with only this one, we learned a lot.

The Finalists Revealed

Been addicted to watching American Idol so so much during this season. Well, Tuesday was the Top 3 Week which we had Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey & Kris Allen, the 3 predictible since top 13. Each of the contestant sang 2 two songs, one of which is the judge's choice, and another one of their own.

Danny Gokey was the first to sing and Paula Abdul chose "Dance Little Sister" by Terence Trent d'Arby. The judges thought that it was a great energetic way to start the show, but Simon & Kara thought the dancing was a little desperate. On His own choice, he chose "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker. Randy loved the arrangement, Kara called it stunning, Paula said it was breathless, Simon called it a "Vocal Master Class".

Kris Allen was next, Kara & Randy picked "Apologize" by One Republic for him to sing but Simon criticized their choice. Randy & Paula thought he showed them what kind of artist that he could be. Kara hoped he could have taken more chances by changing the arrangement (He sang the song while playing piano, Kara wanted to see him singing in acoustic guitar) and Simon criticized her. For his own song choice, he sang "Heartless" by Kayne West. However, he changed the whole arrangement by playing the acoustic guitar. Randy thought that his version was better than the original. Simon said he had written Kris' name off from his own finalists list, but after that song, he thought that Kris was back in the game.

Last to go was Adam Lambert. Simon chose "One" by U2 for him to sing, he said he even called U2 for permission for Adam to sing their song in the competition. Kara said his rendition was unbelievable, Paula thought it was superb, Simon called it brilliant. For his personal pick, he sang "Cryin'" by Aerosmith. After that performance, the judges all agreed that he deserved to be in the final.

Yesterday, Wednesday, was the result show. Each of the contestants has got the chance for their Homecoming which they went to their own hometown and see thousands of their fans. The mayor of the town also declared that that day was "Adam Lambert Day" or "Danny Gokey Day" or "Kris Allen Day" respectively in their own hometown.
The vote came in over 88 millions which broke a new record and was even higher than the final vote of last season. The 2 finalists are only 1 million votes away from each other.

Well, to me, I would like Danny to go home. I liked him a lot after his audition and during hollywood weeks. However, since after the top 13 started, I began to "don't like" him. His songs was just not the type of music I listened to except for "Jesus Take The Wheel" which I love.
I really like Kris & Adam a lot. Kris showed a lot of his originality in the competition and I like his voice a lot, soft, sweet.... and nice. For Adam, he sure has a really strong voice and he's my favorite rock star. :D

And the result? As I wish, Danny has gone home. Not really happy about it, just feel relieved. Really look forward to see the final next week. What's gonna happen? Who'll be crowned the American Idol 2009? Kris or Adam?

Well, in last post I've uploaded photos of Sakura during its blossom week which was over a month ago. And now, as I've also said too, is that it's no longer Sakura Blossom not even in my school, but almost everywhere in Japan. But the end of Sakura Blossom is not a sign that spring is ending, actually, you can say it's time for other flowers to show their pride and it's gonna be in the next post, I promise! But now lets see the difference from last month!

After Golden Week, Here Comes.....

It's been the Golden Week here in Japan last week, and maybe some social workers are still enjoying their Holidays on this special occasion. However, it ended for us, students, now. Golden Week passed and now comes the "Dark Weeks" where we have to study non stop cos there's no more holidays, even 1 day, after this Golden Week until Summer Vacation. How am I gonna survive with that???
Study, study, study... Why can't we get rid of that?

Anyway, what's your plan for the weekend? Anything interesting?
Well, my weekend would be sitting in my room and do all the homeworks, assignments and stuff cos it's all due next week. But one thing could lighten me up! Guess what? It's the 8th, 9th, and 10th of the month, I'm not sure whether I used to say or not, is that around here, there's a Pizza restaurant called "Pizza Hut" which provides 50% off during those days and of course it's not the "Not Delicious" Pizza. Lolzzz... Maybe gonna eat it with senpai (elder students) as to gather and talk - what we often do every weekends. It's quite relaxing talking to Khmer people with our native language. Hmmm, really miss our Cambodia now!!! Next year is too long... can't w8!

By the way, there's another thing I wanted to post since last month or something, is the Cherry Blossom (Sakura) in my school. It was stunning beautiful! I enjoyed the sight so much. Also, I'd been to few other famous places for Sakura Blossom. I was just busy and lazy sometimes that I haven't even post even a photo of it and I think it's time to show it off now. However, they're no longer like in photos now. Everything is green. That's one of another kind. I love it though.

At Yoyoki Park, one of the most famous place for Hanami (Cherry Blossom-seeing). As you can see thousands of people came and having picnic while watching Sakura.

Golden Week In Japan

I've heard few times about this word "The Golden Week" here in Japan, but I got no idea what it was. Well, as we were all approaching that date, I learned that it is a consecutive holidays which takes off at least 5 days in the end of April and beginning of May. We have April 29th "Showa Day"(previous Emperor of Japan), May 3rd "Constitutional Day", May 4th "Greenery Day", and May 5th "Children's Day". Usually in school, we got only 5 days off including weekends. However, the government employees or social workers could take off up to 15 days starting since April 29th. It's amazing! And many people travel back to their hometown, just like we travel to our hometown while studying in Phnom Penh too. I missed those days a lot.

Well, looks like I'll have plenty of time enjoying my holidays, doesn't it? Actually, it doesn't. As we have many days off, we also have our homework & reports come along with us! What a disturbance! However, I'm gonna spend sometimes travel places nearby, not to be stressed up in room 24 hours. Gonna enjoy it anyway!

5th Tetanus Injection

1 hour ago, I went to a nearby hospital to have a Tetanus Injection for the last time. I was injured 2 years and 8 months ago in Cambodia with my sister's bike's stand. I got the right part of my left toe bleeding, pretty much! After that, I was suggested by my sister to get vaccination against Tetanus since the bike's stand was super old and rusty. 1 year & 7 months later, I got it done 4 times leaving the 5th, the final one, due April 2nd 2009. However, I came to Japan!!! So am I supposed to fly back to Cambodia to get that final injection??? No no, of course not. There's also that vaccination in Japan except that they make it only 3 times. I was asking help from the people in the international relation department in my school, and Mrs Ota helped me deal with it. She searched for the nearest hospital in town, available time, and even consult about the vaccination whether it is the same or different from the Cambodian's one. Well, and today we went there and I finally got in done! Thanks so much to Mrs Ota & other people concerned such as Ms Nakayama.
Though it's one month late, I hope it won't cause any problems to me!

It's my laptop's 1 year Birthday Anniversary! I can't believe it has already been a year of possessing this laptop! I remember on the day before my mum bought it for me, she asked "Would you like to have a laptop?". I was a bit shocked and didn't believe what I heard for the very first moment. I thought she was joking or something cos there's nothing serious happening nor did I ask her to buy 1 for me. Thanks a lot Mum, anyway! Also thanks to my 3 sisters & 3 brother-in-laws who help sharing the money later on for mum, esp my 3rd brother-in-law who helped buy this laptop and do all the stuffs related cos I don't know much about it!

This is it! My laptop! Not a really perfect one but I love it! Without it, I couldn't do much things so far, and it also helps in my study!

Busy Daily Life

It's been more than 3 weeks I've started my Freshman year in this Japanese University. I found life is much more busier than I thought it could be when I was training the language for 6 months. As you can see, above is my timetable. Class starts at 8:50 almost everyday and finishes at 12:20, so that we have 50 minutes for our lunch. Then the evening begins at 1:10pm till 6:30pm. I can't believe it could be this busy. More than that is that they've just changed the duration of each session from 90 minutes to 100 minutes this year... why why??? Does that mean I'd have more time to sleep in class??? Lolzzz... just kidding! But of course, some classes are very boring, and I can see many many students are SLEEPING in class! Though I feel really really sleepy sometimes, I do not dare to sleep, for whatever reason. And I don't know why this habit come up to me? Since when? I had no idea... I just begin to be lazier and lazier day by day! This business is also a major factor that I hardly update my blog or read my blogger friends' blog. I'm sorry to lose track on many of your posts dear friends!
Sometimes, feeling like wanna go back home to Khmer!!! :(
However, I'm not gonna lose hope! Many other foreign students can do it, why can't I? And what's more? There's gonna be an almost a week holidays next week! Has ha... really looking forward to it! Gonna go travel somewhere around, not too far, in order to save money :D and gonna enjoy it as much as I can cos there won't be other holidays till summer vacation in July! Hmmm...

This was my dinner this evening! Heh heh, it's porridge cos I was sick these few days, didn't have feeling to eat rice, and it may also help me get better soon. Actually, even though I'm not sick, porridge is one of my favorite appetite since i was younger. Really really love to eat it, has ha...
So, what I ate with that porridge? Well, the answer is "បាក់យ៉ុង និង សាច់គោងៀត" which my sister sent to me this Februry through my សិស្សច្បង who went there as vacation. Another one is "small fish", I don't know what it's called cos I bought it here. Has ha... It was not a bad dinner, and I enjoyed it so much! Really wanna eat it again, but not in case I am sick! Lolzzz...

Coughing!

Haa, been a little sick these few days starting from sore throat to catch a cold and finally to "coughing" now which is the hardest state. I really hate being sick cos I would usually take it as a pretext not to do homework or report or do practical things, heh heh... I've been advised by my sister to drink lemon juice with sugar or honey, and take a pill of Vitamin C every morning, because my condition is likely to be a "Loose Cough" (A results through a defensive reflex mechanism from a response to a stimulation of receptors in the upper respiratory tract. Its purpose being to clear the airways of obstruction or irritants so that breathing can continue as normal.)
What should I do now? So lazy, so tired... still many reports to go, many things to do, will I have enough energy for practice course this Wednesday? Help me!

Today is the first day I start class as a Freshman, again, at the Polytechnic University of Japan. Let me remind you in case you've forgotten that my major is Architectural System.
Well, this morning, the first 2 sessions were all Chemistry. Not really difficult yet since it's just the beginning, and some is just like we've seen in High School, or in my case, at Techno (ITC: Institute of Technology of Cambodia). However, still there was a pretty big problem which is about naming the chemical substance. Haa... it's really difficult since Japanese also has their own name for quite a number of the substance, plus they call a composed substance from back to front which is just opposite from either the Francophone or Anglosaxon system, including Khmer :P.

The first session of the afternoon was Japanese Language. Hey, I've just been trained it for 6 months, why do I have to learn it more? But you know what, I wouldn't be able to imagine my life as a Freshman anymore if there's no help from that class because during that class, we are taught to write reports and train the language more in order to take the standard examination of Japanese Language known as 2Kyu (Level 2), in English case "TOEFL", which is a requirement to attend Japanese University. Phew...
Last session of the day was the Architectural Scheme. The teacher spoke really really fast, and you know what, he gave us our FIRST REPORT of the scholar year. My God, I couldn't even understand what he talked the whole session, and look at my Japanese language!!! I'm gonna die! Help me!!!

Freshman Preparation

As mention before, 6 months of Japanese language training has been finished 2 weeks ago. From now on, I'm gonna be a freshman, once again, heh heh... These few days, there's a lot of things to do in order to prepare for the coming scholar year.

Before yesterday, there was a party for new students at my school where all new students, Japanese and Foreign students including me were to participate. There were a lot of games to play,as well as school quizzes. However, I ain't win anything, poor me!

Today, it was the Open of New scholar year at Hashimoto train station at MeWe building. (Wonder why they didn't make it at school) We were once again to wear suits. Was a bit boring listening to many speeches by school director as well as other people concerned. However, it didn't take much time cos the ceremony lasted only less than 2 hours.
I found out that my class "Architectural System" is composed of 33 students, in which 4 are foreign students. The class is smallest comparing to other 3 majors which are composed of 43, 44, and 45.

Tomorrow, there's gonna be orientation for all new students the whole day. Plus we have to buy lots lots lots of books. In addition, as I'm studying Architecture, it's known that I'm gonna spend most much money on those books, which are more than 20, and instruments. Could be paid more than half the salary... DONATE ME SOME MONEY PLEASE!!!
And after tomorrow, it'll be another orientation, but just for foreign students!
Class will start this Friday 10th, and we'll have weekend off. Wonder again why they don't just make monday the starting day... yab!

So from now on, I could be busy with my study, wouldn't have much time to travel as well as posting blog. But for my future, I'm gonna try and do my best!

Last week, it was the "Completion of Study Ceremony" for me after 6 months of training Japanese. On that day, each of us had to give a speech in Japanese in front of the School Principle, and few other people who were concerned about foreign students affairs, as well as our teachers and senior students. It was a bit tough for me since it's just a short period of training and what I'm worried more is that when I start year 1 which will begin this April 7th, there would be problems with understanding the lecture. However, gonna try my best not to be sent back home... Lolzzz...

Cambodia Produces Kiwi?

Last week, while I was consulting the internet about my assignment on GMO, I came out to know that Kiwi was an example of it. Being curious about that, I've searched it in Wikipedia for more information, and I was surprised to see that Cambodia is also taking part in producing that kind of fruit! It was unbelievable, I've never heard about that before and had never though it's possible too!

Also, what I've just found out that day was that there's another type of Kiwi and it is called Gold Kiwi. Really wanna taste it... Looks like it's sweeter than the green one, think so?
However, they are all called Kiwifruit in some countries not to be confused with the bird found in Australia which is also called Kiwi. Actually, the fruit's name is taken after that bird.

This is Kiwi, which is commonly called Kiwi Bird now in order not to confuse with the fruit. As far as I'm concerned, it's a flightless bird cos it doesn't possesses wings and that's why it is becoming one of the endangered animals nowadays.

Day 1 (cont) : わたしの仕事館 (My job's Theater)

Just right after keeping our luggage at the hotel, we continued the trip by local bus to "My Job's Theater" which is a place showing about careers, what is it like to do this or that job, your compatibility to the job and something like that. It was a very interesting place!

Dear guys, how are you? I'm just back from the exciting trip told you last time. I'd had such a wonderful trip, one of the happiest trip ever. Since Friday that I arrived here but was feeling exhausted that's why didn't post it until now... Heh heh... Let's see what I've been doing on that trip!

No one could have expected that things happened over here this time around since it's already Spring for almost a month! Yesterday, one of my friends told me that snow's gonna fall today according to the weather forecast. However, I didn't pay much attention on it! I thought it's already spring, and if it falls, it wouldn't be at our school though in our town, and it wouldn't be enough for us to play too... Well, things turned out that I was wrong when snow fell today around 3pm. Still, no one thought it's gonna last. Later that evening, I was in my room surfing on the internet, Kimhun called and told me that snow had fallen a lot and enough for us to make our snowman. I didn't believe him at first but then I went to see it myself, wow, it really fell a lot more. I was stunned by the view around me which are all cover by sparkling white piece of SNOW. Then I grabbed my camera out of my pocket then took these shots...

Kyoto & Nara - Exciting Trip...

Guess what? On Wednesday, I'm gonna take a trip to Kyoto & Nara with my classmates as our graduation trip. Heh heh... actually, not graduated from high school or university, but the graduation of our 6 months language training though it hasn't ended yet. It's gonna take 3 days and the schedule is full... heh heh... However, according to senior students, there's no nightlife over there! Too bad! Moreover, according to the weather forecast, it's gonna be cloudy during those full 3 days with the possibility of rain too, that's why each of us are told to bring one folded umbrella cos "U can't stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh"... :D

Well, just hope it's gonna be lots of fun and there's gonna be tons of photos I'd like to share to you all. Keep tune to see it na!

Hmmm, what am I supposed to say first???
Well, let's begin with this!
What do you think about "Blogging"? What's your purpose of writing blog? To kill time? For fun? Or is it a part of ur duty???
Heh heh, the questions may sound silly... :D

For me, I started this blogging thing last year in this month. I found out it was interesting, not really to kill time, but it's what I wanna do. I feel like I wanna share something to my friends as well as to the world with what I'm having! Moreover, I've learned a lot through blogging too! I've gained various kinds of knowledge, known a lot of things happened else where, and seen a lot more things than I could ever imagined! Especially, I've made more friends through it too, and I really appreciate that so much! And last but not least, it kept me being close with my friends though we are in different places so far from each other but we still share our emotion together in time!

By the way, this year should be the 1st year Anniversary of my blog! Congr~~~~ Wait a minute! Did I say 1st year anniversary? Well, it's supposed to be that way, but you know what, it was created on February 29th last year, so of course there won't be February 29th this year... And how am I supposed to celebrate my blog birthday? :( How poor my blog is!
But no matter what it take, I'm gonna say it's the 1st year anniversary of my blog though it's not exact 1 year! That's why I choose to post it between Feb 28th & March 1st on midnight.

Lately, she reappeared after the American Idol 7 Live Tour with her first new single "Hold Up My Heart". Guess what??? It's snowing now... yeah...
But hey, it's already almost the 20th day of spring! It hadn't snow here during winter when it was supposed to fall! I don't know what to say... Heh heh, it's very strange this year. My teachers also said that the weather this year is strange... it's a lot hotter... and then it snows now! Never before snow fall during this time. Last year, it snow on the 2nd and 3rd of Feb and then stopped to begin spring!
Today, it's been falling since 9:30am, and I hope it's gonna keep falling until there are enough snow for me to make my very own first snowman... :D Please keep falling...

Been subscribed to a channel on Youtube for quite a few weeks, now I got to know a little bit more about Korean songs when they updated them. I wanted to find a channel for Japanese songs too but haven't found one yet...
Lately, I've just got to know a song from a Korean Girl Band "SNDS"(So Nyeo Shi Dae) or in English "Girls' Generation"composed of 9 cute korean girls with their hit song "Gee". The song is pretty nice but I love the chareography of the song much more!
The video has English subtitle, so it won't be hard for you to understand it... Hope you enjoy!

However, today I've received another video from my subscription. Guess what? It's the Parody of the song mentioned above "Gee"...

World Day

二本松小学校　：　ワールドデー

It was the World Day here last 2 weeks on February 6th. My classmates, our teachers, and I had been to a nearby elementary school known as "Nihon Matsu Elementary School" as our school program. Actually, it wasn't a holiday. The purpose of the program is to exchange between our cultures with Japanese culture, however, with lovely little children of elementary school... :P

On the gate of the school. I was almost invisible... Heh heh... See me te? One of the most interesting point here is that, there's a message saying "いつまでも挨拶をしてください" (Please greet, anytime).

In the guest room... sitting, drinking tea, and listening to instructions...

Welcome ceremony in the gymnasium where we were introduced to all students.

World Day song performed by grade 5 & 6 students. It was "Hello" in 10 languages.

After that, there was a break and we had to go back to the guest room waiting for our guide to take us to each class which we were assigned to make presentation. 16 of us are devided in to 6 groups and each group went to each grade of class. However, I was assigned to the 1st grade student with another Sri Lanka student.

Presenting about Khmer Culture. Also, I was told to explain those kids how to "ប៉ាវស៊ីងស៊ុង" though they already knew it, but I needed to teach them to speak in Khmer... It was very interesting as we'd need it for the game after this presentation... :P

Few other students are assigned to grade 2 students.

In the 6th grade class, after presenting, they had the chance to watch the "Picture Story" which was recited along paitings.

In grade 5 class. Here they played card... Has has ha... Just kidding... It's the game called "Memory"

Back to grade 1 class with me where we played "Train Track". First, we were all individual and walking around in class through music. When the music stop, we had to ប៉ាវ with the nearest person. And that's why I needed to explain this to them in the beginning as we used it now and they all spoke it in Khmer. The people who lost had to grab the other one shoulder making longer Train. We did like this till we got the longest train... Heh heh... It was a lot of fun!

As I was new to this game, I was taught by the Class Champion of Coma! Heh heh, he's quite talented!

During the break, we were asked to see these 2 girls playing piano in the music room. They were unbelievable. They played such a fast song and it was very nice!

Finally, it's our lunch. Heh heh, we had to eat like those kids! However, it wasn't bad... except the amount... Has ha...

Y didn't teacher gave a day off... I was so tired! But it was ok for I had such a memorable day!

It's been 4 months 12 days since I arrived and lived here, I was so happy that my life is going on so well, as well as my health which had never had any problems except diarrhea sometimes :D until yesterday when I noticed I had a sore throat, my breath became hot, and felt tired. It wasn't the coldest time these latest few weeks. However, I thought I might catch a cold today. And you know what, it turns out as I expected... I caught a cold now... Feel so bad! Help me!!!
